Anyone been to Texas?

OP are you seriously going to the other side of the world for a Fall out boy concert ?

o.O

Wow in that case, I think that's a bit too far :)

It's really worth taking a look at...expedia shows flights at under $200....mid week the hotel part of the casino's can offer special deals too.
There's also chopper tours of the canyon from Vegas which take you over the Hoover Dam at the same time .

There is also a tour that takes you down the side of the canyon on packmules, just as awesome as the chopper.

As an update - VISA approved and issued. Flights booked! Texas here we come :)

We'll be doing all the items set out in the OP including the trip to New Orleans. I have an entire weekend spare so thought why not. Plus they have an awesome (what I hear) WW2 museum, and we'll get to go on a steam boat on the Mississippi :)

Also hope to pick up a GTX 680 while I'm there :D

Not to blow your Mark Twain dreams but the Mississippi is just about the most hellish treacherous ugly mosquito-ridden stretch of water on this earth. Otherwise sounds great :D

Haha! No worries, I had no delusions :)

I booked car hire last night and for the same price that Avis offered me a Chev Aveo, Budget offerred me a Camaro Convertible. So I booked the latter. Man driving will be awesome :)
