Hi everyone. I just want to find out if anyone else here had the same experience.

This would apply to prepaid users only though.

A couple of months ago I started on Vodacoms' 3G prepaid. About 2 months ago I bought 2GB bandwidth. While I was working the service was suddenly stopped. When I phoned Vodacom they said that my funds and bandwidth were exhausted. I did not take much notice of this and just bought more airtime and bandwidth.

Yesterday I put R550.00 bandwidth on the sim and bought 2GB data bundle. The rest of the funds were left on the sim. This morning the service was stopped again. Again phoned Vodacom and I was told that my bandwidth and funds were finished. - This after less than an hour on the Net.

I then realised that Vodacom might be involved with unethical harmful business practices and went to see an advocates firm. We will now institute actions against Vodacom, but are also interested in seeing if there are more people who experienced the same.

Sortof.

I feel for you man, ive had similar problems. Vodacom's billing service is a maze intended to confound you and drag you into the deepest echelons of youtube only to suck you dry... Bummer about that.

Thanks mate.

Keep an eye on the newspapers :)

I believe that Vodacom might be busy with defrauding thousands of prepaid users...

Kindly describe [in detail] the exact method and procedure used to buy these PPDBs.

Was contemplating offering to help but if we go from two failed attempts to buy a pre-paid data bundle (maybe the bundle was actually used?) straight to advocate level (at R6000 an hour), instigating class-action in one single step (let's bypass those pesky lawyers, what do they know?), we're dealing with a serious player here and us mere mortals won't be able to assist...

So let's keep an eye on the newspapers.

Agreed, I'm sceptical to say the least, maybe some actual useful info from the user will be forthcoming at some point in time, until then PEBKAC applies IMO.

I've had 2 contracts running with vodacom, a 1GB and a 2GB package and was supplied 2 e220 usb modems as part of the offer. I'm into my 5th month and to date have not been billed at all despite emailing their accounts department.

1 of 2 things is going to happen, 1. I won't pay, ever or 2. (and the more lightly) one day my account will be debited with an alarming amount...

Probably House is picking up your tab.....;)

Although tempting to leave, at some point this will probably resolve and you're going to end up with a big bill. If you want, PM me the contract details and I'll get someone to sort it out.

This is all pretty discouraging. Is the problem likely to be untrained people at Vodacom with responsibilities they can't handle? Did Vodacom buy software that doesn't work perfectly (which it must, or it is worthless)?
