After assuming initially that Decofurn Furniture are incompetent idiots, it turned out that the double-charge to my credit card was all FNB's fault.

After calling the dispute line, the lady immediately said that the double-charge issue is their fault and loads of customers are affected. And that I should expect a reversal within 24-48 hours. She didn't even wait for me to finish my sentence once she knew what I was talking about. I'm surprised to not see any mention of this here on the forum if it's a widespread issue. Double-charges can properly mess people up depending on the amount involved.

Was this a transaction on 7 September?

It's a massive issue on FNB debit and credit cards, seemingly caused by Nedbank POS devices.
Nedbank POS devices caused the same issue for Capitec customers last week

Did you receive two payment confirmations, or simply noticed that double the amount went off, or see it on internet banking?
I haven't made major purchases this month so unless I was looking for this I might have missed it; will have a look on my transaction history.

Nedbank POS?

Online purchase.

Yes!

I did receive separate payment notifications from FNB.

Nedbank ran a POS debit file from 7 september again on 11 december, in error. Not FNB's fault at all - and it should be reversed by now.

Definitely not reversed. Good to have an explanation though.

If it's not yet reversed, then I'd suggest querying the transaction.

Here's mine... Note the reversal only showed up this morning, but is dated 7 Sep
