I'm with you, but I do admire a good athlete or sportsperson, it is gratifying to see the human body perform at its very best.

Human bodies and minds are capable of remarkable performance when you practice something over and over and over.

If you're neither interested in nor participate in any sporting activities then it's understandable not to be interested in the Olympics. No? At the same time there are alot of people that are suddenly interested in sports just to fit in.

I would much rather watch sport, news channels or documentaries on tv than watch a movie or a series. If there is no sport or a good documentary to watch, I normally switch off the tv and listen to music instead. I can't even remember when was the last time I watched a movie in full.

Couldn't agree more. This kind of attitude is generaly irritating and boring at the same time.

TBH I don't watch much sport, I played throughout high school, but to me watching sport on TV just isn't my thing(day to day sports). I will how ever watch world cups and Olympics etc, because it's not something that's on every other weekend and it's nice to see such talented people who have trained almost there whole lives to make the country proud! Like watching Chad Le clos, for me was awesome, you could see how genuinely happy he was to win! Was cool to see some emotion!

Do I do it to fit in, hell no, do I know what people are speaking about when they speak about what happened in last week super 14... NOPE, because I have no interest in it! From time to time I will watch a game socially at a braai etc, but won't go out my way to watch it at home. Great positive as I'll never need dstv lol

I think you've got it wrong. A lot of people are interested because its South Africans competing and doing us proud. As much as we all complain about things in this country, most of us still remain passionate about it (and its people) and celebrate all its triumphs.

Olympics also have that variety, as well as short events, that allows it to attract a bigger audience.

Even I know that they moved on from that. I don't even watch rugby unless the Sharks are playing. :p
