Anyone else with high ping on Afrihost?

I heard for the past month afrihost has been having network problems? I wasn't at home so I couldn't check if it affected me. I arrived the other day and browsing is fine but my ping is ridiculous. I can't play league of legends anymore.

Should I expect this to stay for a while and just move on? What other good cheap uncapped deals out there? I am on the 2meg speed. The free trial for 4meg from mweb worked great but I can't be locked into a 6 month contract, also the throttling is an issue of mine.

Message Afriman and ask for Afrigreen details. Try out and see if it improves.

Mweb does not have a contract unless you sign up for the router, else they only enforce a months notice for cancellation.
You could also try CrystalWeb, they seem to be liked, if their IPC capacity increase has happened.
 
I honestly don't know why people still use this piece of **** ISP.

My story is there too, and as they have forced me now to apply afresh for a line with Telkom, they will of course pay for not releasing my line as agreed. They now hog my line to try extort money from me for another month after they agreed both telephonically and per e-mail on 25 June to terminate services on 30 June. Then I got a mail on 3 July saying it will take another 3 to 14 days to release the line, but to date nothing has come of that. They now sent me a mail that they will not release the line unless I also pay for July, a 180 degree turn from the verbal (recorded) and written agreement. Now they hog my adsl line and would not transfer it back to Telkom

I am sending Gian an invitation to the Vredeburg Small Claims court to recover costs incurred. Also,, they expressly asked me to do some work for them, I quoted, they accepted and instructed I do the work, now they would not pay. He will also explain that to the court.

Bunch of inept crooks as far as I am concerned. Imagine how stupid one must be - they get charged by Telkom for the line they would not release - confirmed by Telkom to me. So, in their stupid attempt of extortion, they are paying to hog the line. Baffles the mind!

So I checked with the free 1gig afrihost gives a month and I also get high ping there. My browsing on my uncapped account is also slow.
