I submitted mine on the 1st. Still no loot in my bank :( It was not even a lot!

I submitted my return on Monday and received the money in my bank account on Wednesday. Last year they assessed me (it was the first year I had taken out a retirement annuity and income protection) but this year I was not assessed.

I have been assessed, but no money yet  Not sure what I should do.

Actually, I'm not sure if I was assessed. In fact, they wanted me to submit supporting documentation for the retirement annuity and income protection, but I'm not sure if I was assessed as such. This delayed the whole process by a week or two.

Finally got the verification notice on Monday, after assessment and supporting, paid in this morning.

Submitted on the 1st, received the returns on wednesday :)

Last time I had mine assessed, it requested supporting documents. I sent it and about a month later received the returns.

I also did mine on the 1st and was requested to send supporting documentation, which I did and no monies yet.

Last year I had issues with fines I paid back in 2010 that they waned to refund me for, but I had to go to SARS because they wanted me to prove that I paid it o_O Was a 2 month battle before I got my money :p

Nope, got audited again. Will take around 4 - 5 weeks like before. No rush anyway, not like I'm going to buy anything for R 680...

Same here, paid out the Wednesday. Last time I also got asked to upload supporting documents, but I got paid out anyway. I did upload them, though.

Submitted mine on the 2nd July and was paid on the 4th July. Submitted the wifes, who had to confirm bank details and still waiting, even after confirming bank details.

Not sure why some are paid so quickly and others take so long.

But at least we both get money back. :D

By definition if you have to fill in a tax return you will be assessed. That's the whole point of filling in a tax return. You can't fill in a tax return and not be assessed.

I suspect he means audited not assessed

Im not clued up on filing in these forms. Turns out I am to be audited. They have asked me to make a scan of my IRP5 and submit. Kinda silly considering they have it on record. Have submitted all the documentation.

I went and asked around, it seems that 2/3 of our staff here got audit requests. I wonder what happened.
