There are regrettably some programs that are not written for Mac, one being WinLoad which is an alarm programming application for Windows

Bought Parallels Desktop (about R900) and installed Windows 10 Enterprise. Works well

Problems:

USB memory stick does not display on Windows Explorer. It displays on the Mac ok, and in Tools, Parallels is set to use USB storage devices. I followed the instructions given to make it work

A USB adaptor is used to connect the computer to the alarm panel. This device is also not recognised by Windows

Have posted in the Parallel's Desktop Forum but no replies

Digicape, from where the software came, are clueless

I don't, but Virtualbox handles USB well the other way round ie: Windows host, OS X client, so that might be worth a shot.

Can you screenshot the devices tab on you parallels desktop settings?

Use it a lot, never had a problem with USB. Even used it for USB to Serial interfaces with success though needed Windows driver updates for that.

Maybe just try a few different USB devices and unmount in Mac then retry the Parallels option for 'use device with Windows'

I have found that you need to be in the parallels window (ie Not in Mac) when you plug the USB in. It then asks where you want to use it - MAC or Windows.

Not sure on Parallels but on Virtualbox you need to “switch” the device to the VM.

Probably much the same here.

It wouldn’t be possible or both the host OS and VM OS to access the device simultaneously, so if you see it in OSX while wanting it in the VM something is wrong.
