I'm in the market to buy a new MacBook Pro, but the prices are putting me off (quite a bit). Can't really tell you how I stumbled onto My Apple Guru, likely via Facebook somehow, but I did. And here I am. Has anyone bought from them? Their prices are substantially cheaper, but too high to just take a chance.

Anyone?

No land line number, no address. I couldn't get past the captcha account registration to check payment options but it looks like EFT on the about page. So it screams scam to me.

They also have a Facebook presence with a telephone number. It seems to me like they started off as a repair shop for iPhones and have branched out to sales.

*Edit*

Yeah, no landline.

Yeah, I wasn't going to jump into this pond without at least a few referrals.

There is an address for their "store" on the website:

114 Koelman Road
Alphen Park, Pretoria

Checking Google Maps, it's a house in a residential area.

They are not scammy cheap though.

Message them tell them you think they are a scam, can you visit their shop to build trust.

Show them this thread in your mail.

Apple scammers have cottoned on to not being too cheap, just cheaper.

Hi All, My name is Reynhart from My Apple Guru. Im glad you guys started this thread, always good to be safe! Im all for that. But would like to set the record straight. We are indeed not a scam. We listed our home address on our website as we are predominantly an online store. And we have also recently partnered up with an Authorized reseller and now have a small shop in Centurion, in Southdown's. We just need to update the address, haven't got around to doing that yet. We didn't list our landline number for the simple reason we are not always home and its bad when customers call and the phone just rings. Myself and Fiance's mobile numbers are however listed. Any any customer can easily get hold of us.

We Also have colleagues in CT and we normally courier products to their home for customers to view before buying. Again I have to emphasize , we are predominantly online. If we have a huge fancy store we won't be as competitive with our prices.

Please feel free to contact us if you guys are still worried. We also have many happy customers, both in CT and Gauteng. And we will happily share their details (with their consent obviously) as a reference. Just ask and we will help.

I hope this sets the record straight. Again, welcome to call me. Here is my mobile number: 0829242540

Thanks everyone.

Rey
