Hi guys!

Vodacom now have activated their LTE network! Anyone testing yet? I have my iPad 3 but unfortunately the LTE spectrum/band isn't supported here :(

Anyway!

Give us some feedback peoples!

It must be remembered that devices are not really available in SA yet that support the LTE network. I heard that modems are expected to land by the end of this month. When that happens...then we should see people coming online fast and furious....vrrrroooom vrrrrooooom.

If you send me a LTE modem, I will gladly help testing. PM me for shipping address.

Exactly how vodacom operates. First switch on the network and then go "Oh schitt, only like 1% of the people in the country can use it, lets order some modems!"

lol. Testing is no longer required....it is commercial baby! :p:D

I will let you guys know once the devices are available. I however will have to pay for my own modem like everyone else :-)

gmph ...

I believe that it will be a good gesture from VDC to give LTE modems to all MyBB and VDC subscribers ... anyone else agree with me??

I'm actually testing MTN's LTE ATM - at my house I get 1 bar of signal and I'm getting between 5Mbps and 14Mbps. I've been right next to the cell though with full signal and I've seen around 59Mbps DL and around 23Mbps upload. Pretty sure I was the only user on the cell though. The coolest thing is the latency though - it's better than ADSL.

i know its not vodacoms phone, its frlom cellc, BUT, my s3 has lte as a network type selection, does this mean it would work on LTE?

If it's the LTE model, it should work. Just phone 111 and ask them to activate LTE on your Vodacom contract SIM.
