Anyone use Utorrent?

any feedback will be highly appreciated,

does anyone use Utorrent to download torrents, if u do pls help me. my utorrent will absolutely not download anything, eg. i tried downloading a 26mb file, i left for 3 weeks and it downloaded 0%. is there something wrong with my connection or something which i've missed,
pls help guys
 
OK, first of all, check if the file is being seeded. if a file isn't being seeded it will never download. You should be able to see the number of seeds in utorrent. You can try a site like www.torrentz.com which shows the number of seeds available. Next, does anything at all download on utorrent? If not, it may be a firewall issue. What type of connection are you using? utorrent is a good torrent downloader, I doubt you'll find one much better than it but you can try an alternative torrent downloader such as Bitlord and see if it works.
 
ok, so i'm downloading nero 8 ultra edition and its got 2136 seeds and 401 peers, but when i hold my mouse over the utorrent icon it says 0(0) seeding, what does this mean?

by the way how do u check to know what ur proxy server is??

uTorrent should work without any options modifications.

Are you on ADSL?

Is your router in "bridge mode"?

If it isn't, I suggest you search "bridge mode" on these forums.
 
couldn't u kindly pls explain on how to do it because i cannot seem to find anything
 
On this page at portforward.com is a massive list of router models. Find yours there, click the link. On the following page is a list of applications/games, find uTorrent there, click the link once more, and follow the step-by-step instructions. :)

So you have checked it's not your firewall blocking Utorrent and have fowarded the correct ports?
 
I don't know maybe try download another torrent from a diffrent tracker ....
 
It takes a while to get started. Sometimes up to 2 mins. Switch off all firewalls, including the windows one.

In Utorrent, the bar in the middle of the screen should be blue-ish and the number to the right of the bar should be 1 or higher. Are they?
