Anyone using Sonic Wireless in Cape Town?

Hey !!

I have requested information from Sonic Wireless, looking to get the 3GIG, 1024kbps line at home for after hours working.
Does anyone of you have it and could you please give me feedback. My work is online for a marketing company and I cannot dare get a unreliable line.

I really do not want to opt for a TELKOM or similiar ADSL line

We live in Strand. They told me that the reception in Strand is extremely good - but then again - which sales person will not?

Thanks

Elaborate?

When I lived in Cape Town sonic wireless was/is the best... James is the man...

I recently (week ago) signed with them, getting awesome stable internet so far. Had a few hiccups with the installation but I sorted that out myself

I am also trying to make use of their services, having signed my contract in January.. Unfortunately I am not connected yet.. Can't wait to get a stable connection...

After our ADSL took a dump with the new management software, we're looking at Sonic Wireless in Kuils River - any feedback? Ping times? Fair us policy?

Been using them now for two weeks and all I can say is bloody amazing!
I would recommend them to anyone.

Filled out and sent in the forms. Let's see how things go.

Also, within the terms and conditions, I found this:

5.3 The Subscriber agrees that SWS shall be entitled from time to time to increase or vary the Charges payable (as dictated by the networks or by extreme currency fluctuations) by the Subscriber to SWS for the Services. SWS shall endeavour to give the Subscriber prior notice of any such increases or variation, but gives no undertaking in this regard.

i.e. They may increase prices as they see fit, without prior notice, and I'll still be bound to the full term of the contract.
So I added:

SWS agrees Subsciber may then Terminate the Contract without being in Breach of Contract.

I have been using them for almost 3 weeks, after some hiccups with Installations.. And they are awesome!
Fantastic service from Jerico and Amanda!

With regards to the below statement, I seriously doubt they will increase their fees without notice or without justified reason. I do believe, from my dealings thus far, that they have more than enough morals to rip off their clients!

Useful thread, thanks!
Been doing the usual missioning & trying to find solid wireless in Plumstead.
You're all referring to sonicwireless.co.za & NOT sonictelecoms.co.za
Correct?

As far as I'm aware they're both the same company (same contact details). I think they changed their name to SonicTelecoms because of fibre that they'll be bringing out.

Here's the "official" thread.

Thank you, I too found this useful. I'll be saying my goodbye to Telkom shortly.
One question though (@Sonic_Wireless_Engineer), is there any latency issues?
I usually use my current ADSL connection to SSH etc. Low latency is important to me...

DONT BUY SONIC.

It is never there fault if you dont get the service or speed that you are paying for. If you are planning of having more then one device connected to your wifi, your speed will drop drastically not just a few bits, but megabits. And if you are planning to go uncapped, you will be at the bottom of their priority list. When you phone customer service it will always be you fault and never on their side.

This is just a warning...I dont want anyone else to make the same mistake then me. I would rather deal with telkom then with sonic. And that should say everything.
