Guys you do realize that cheaper could simply mean it has less of the off-road toys other SUV's have right?

"cheaper" and "inexpensive" are two very different things.

That being said, as long as you realise what you are buying, a cheap car, and your expectations match the price, then it's great bang for buck.

Just be sure to test drive it before commiting, and go at 120 km/h. The Sandero felt like a deathtrap going above 80 km/h, so I'd test this Dacia properly if I were you.

Now that the Ford ecosport has arrived in country this is gonna be a tough choice.

WAAAYYY too high. The only thing that was really appealing here was to have a cheap 4x4. With the 4x2 models almost reaching R200k they can go jump in the river.

I'll never, ever, ever buy a car without ESP ever - once you've experienced what it's capable of you'll be daft to even consider it. That being said, at least the Duster didn't pull an (admittedly old) A-Class manuever:

Wow, it seems there is loads of negativity whenever somebody brings out a vehicle that is more affordable and isn't super premium.

I will be looking to get the top spec 2x4 diesel duster when it arrives and will give you guys a proper review once I get it. It seems to be a hit overseas so I will take my chances.
