Anyone with King Price ?

I am very happy with KP. My premiums decrease on a regular basis. Signing up was a pleasure, and I their quote were much cheaper than the other companies. I can recommend them for sure. I am a tough one when it comes to service and price, so trust me on this one :)

The true test of an insurance company is not the premium and the friendly phone "service" , but when it comes to claiming.

Most of these cheapie companies love to repudiate claims.
Also it's a myth that they "cut out the middleman" as all these telesales people get commission when signing you up.

If you have a broker, he will help you get any claim processed efficiently whilst the telesales guy will be nowhere to be seen when the shyt hits the fan!

Maybe your broker will do something. Plenty of bad, lazy brokers out there and you'll also only find out when you claim.

I have been with my broker for 20 years. Top guy... U want his details?

Also now with the "threat" of people going the the "direct" route the brokers nowadays will work hard to retain you as a client.

been using them now for almost 2 years and I really like them. friendly staff, monthly discounts and constant communication during a problem.

Its been just over a year since i started this thread and i eventually signed up with KP and ive had no issues whatsoever, i have even had Windscreen claim and it was done the very same day. However my only gripe is One year later, i wanted to add another car onto the same profile and they have suddenly become one of the most expensive. For the additional car, ive actually got a better quote from Momentum

When I got a quote from KP it was R100 more than most other "leading" companies.

Been with them for almost a year now. My premium was about R500 cheaper than Discovery. Over that period, it has also decreased monthly by a total of about R60. Not huge savings, but it follows their principle of reducing premiums with the monthly devaluation of your vehicle. Good service from them, and I'll stick with them.

Just got a quote from King Price. While they are on-par with with other direct insurance companies, they are still about R1000 more (With a R500 higher excess) than what I pay with through a broker.

Resurrecting an old thread, thinking of moving from OUTsurance to King Price they'll nearly halve my current premiums.

So how is King Price treating y'all? Any googling I do seems to be mostly positive ?

Outsurance gave me R800 last week as they could not beat my current insurance :)

Enjoy:-
I have 2 cases come across my desk recently:-
1)Refusing to pay a claim when a TP was at fault and would be recoverable because the wife of the business owed Woolworth's money.
2)Refusing to pay TP damages caused by a insureds towbar because it was not "specified" on the vehicle.

We'll hear from you in this section in a thread asking for advice because of some trivial stupid reason they not paying.

Are there mostly positive responses on settling claims? Always check for claims experience rather than positive reviews on low premiums, underwriting process etc e.g.

I was involved in an accident. I contacted King Price and they handled the entire process in an efficient and timely manner, however, the company Kind Price recommended I contact in order to arrange a courtesy vehicle has been such a disappointment. The service provided by the courtesy vehicle company has been nothing but shocking, how King Price has such a company on its database is beyond.

By the way, this applies to many insurances companies not just KP

also with me and KP, hopscotching across from how much I might pay
and always wondering if they do pay and what excuses they might use to deny my claim.....

yeah thats why I asked because Outsurance have been great when it come to claims in the past but they expensive, so I afraid of moving to a cheaper insurance and then having issues claiming if I ever have to.

I just moved from Discovery to Alexander Forbes. Premium went fro R2.6k to R1.3k... KP couldn't even come close.

Pro tip with car insurance: shop around. Get quotes from other places and then play them against each other. Call your provider back and say you're cancelling because the other guy is coming in at R300 less with lower excess. They don't put you through to the cancellation department - they put you through to a supervisor who has a look to see what he can do for you. He then says "ok, we can drop your premium by R400 with an even lower excess". Then you're like "then why the **** have I been paying so much if this is how much I should've been charged?" Then you cancel out of principle and go with the 3rd guy you called that was even cheaper.

Or just use a broker...
