AOE3 demo out - 366MB

Are you sure you meet the minimum specs? Also check that you have Direct x9c. Failing that I can always burn the demo to CD and post it to you.

I have all the correct system specs and latest drivers and dx9c, it just comes up with a blue screen when i start it... :(

Hmph... no idea then, have you googled it?

Yeah, can't say i'm blown away by it but I still enjoy it enough [I like the setting etc and "card" deck]...has anyone got to a Level 10 Home City yet?

I'm on Level 9 with 111 000 XP points...

Hello World

I have played the demo quite a few times. I like it!

It performs reasonably well on my Pentium4 2.5Ghz with 1Gb RAM and GeForce 6600GT graphics. For single player fun I will play on full graphics but will turn shadows and other detail down when competing in multiplayer clan games.

Cant wait for FK vs BK 4vs4 clannies!

Have a happy game!

Played the demo for a few days and am getting more impressed with it the more I play.

I think everyone will be slightly disappointed with the graphics after all the hype around it. On an X800XT with all settings max it looks great but nothing mind-blowing (must say that having 20 howitzers in the middle of Elizabeth's base tearing up the buildings is an awesome sight!). The online screenshots seem to have been 'softened' or something, or maybe I need an NVidia card with SM 3.0!?

Anyway, graphics doesn't make a game, and the Age series has always been about atmosphere, gameplay and replayability. To me AOE3 seems to deliver all of this and more. The home city is a great concept and the AI (I've only played it on 'hard') is excellent.

In previous AOE games the 'hard' or 'hardest' setting normally threw everything at you (from one direction) for about 20 mins but if you survived it you knew you were going to win. Not so here. It will pound you with one strategy and switch to a different strategy if it's not working (and give you a bit of tongue about your resilience in the process). The AI feels much more human than before.

I played RON online for a long time and will certainly buy AOE3 and give it a go online. If anyone wants to set up a local league or clan, I'll be available.

whens its release date? i c some torrent sites hav it already

hehe I allready got it ;-)

Hehe alot of fun, jammed it today with buddy.

I got it today, only had time to play 1 skirmish game playing as germany. I played it on one of the bigger maps with lots of water so could have a big naval battle, its awsome, the sound of the guns and amazingly real graphics. With the graphics on full you can really see what all the fuss was about.

The best RTS I ever played was Total Annihilation 1.
You and me both buddy. You and me both. In fact, I still play it every now and then (Core Contingency with all additional units installed).

Things that I really loved about it:
the sheer number of different units and buildings;
Being able to share vision, energy and metal with friendly players in multi;
Air, land (normal and bot) and sea (above and below the water) units;
The Krogoth. :D

I loved that game, I havent played it in a while, any1 know where i could get a copy? sure it would be free by now.
Been playing AOE3 all night:D man its good, worth every cent!:p

I download alot of games, but the games I end up playing, I also end up buying. Its a fair trade in my eyes :)
