Apartheid responsible for Xenophobia

Apartheid created a hierarchy in the minds of the people.
White was "supreme"
and anyone race close to them was next in line...
Xhosa people are fair so they assumed the superior to the darker Zulus.
Indian had straight hair like whites so they made themselves superior to Coloureds...
So they all pigeon holed themselves and then came the foreigners and ofcourse their natural instinct just separated themselves from eachother...

Bull.
It's this way all over the world and non if it's Apartheid's fault. In the US the light coloured blacks look down on the darker ones. In South America the darker skinned natives are seen as inferior. That's how it goes, everybody knows.

Hell, you yourself write in blue because you like it more than black :p

Im not too caught up in the classification, but more in the reasoning behind the Apartheid regimes actions. They played the Xhosa and Zulu against each other as much as possible because it made sense. Divide and conquer. Keep them fighting at each other as much as possible so they dont organise against the whites. Play on the really deep sense of racism black people have for other tribes and they`ll be so busy fighting each other that they wont have time to fight you.
 
I am white but I never supported apartheid or had the right to vote back then. I DO NOT CARE if they blame apartheid for any random what so ever as long as the stigma of being born white does not affect me in any way what so ever.
 
Bull ****ing ****! The tribes of Africa have always fought each other. An example? Tsutsi's and Hutu's. Hell even white tribes fought each other, the Romans against the Anglo Saxons etc, it's always been that way it will always be that way. Apartheid is just a convenient way for people to shirk responsibility for their actions and failures! Yes maybe the security forces played them against each other but **** me side ways and call me a rubber dildo.... It's history ffs! All over the world since the begining of time... Hell even the t-rex ate other dinosaurs... it's natures way of determining survival of the fittest!
 
The reason the xenophobia exists is because of the governments ability to make promises to the "people" and then it's inability to deliver on those promises. At the same time they're allowing refugees into the country unchecked to make a better life for themselves at the expense of South Africans, I'd also be pissed.

In a few years time, when white people start killing black people because the blacks are getting jobs through AA and BEE that will be blamed on Apartheid too won't it? But which version of Apartheid? Apartheid 1.0 (where the whites were racist) or Apartheid 2.0 (where the blacks were racist?).

Agreed. African tribes fought each other long before the white man or apartheid came to this country. How else could Shaka have been a Zulu warrior.

Also remember the Greeks fought against the early Romans as they saw the Romans as uncivilized. The Romans, again thought the Germanic's were uncivilized etc...

At the time I grew up in Ciskei, it felt like that. I remember my mom working at Frere Hospital. The hierarchy in the staff was exactly like that. Frere Hospital had a Whites only section and only Indians could go there.

Indians were the next class below White people and stayed closer to East London, then it was Colored people a little further from East London & Indian Community, then Xhosa people in Duncan Village.

Maybe it wasn't apartheid's fault but a mere scrabble for the SEA VIEW.

Yes but the reason that they can not get jobs is becuase of the apartheid schooling system. Think of the reasons, yes apartheid is a direct reason depending on how you look at it. Do not just look at the outcome but back track the people that is causing the problem and see why they think like they do. This is not race, if I lived in a rural town and said I am from zimbabwe I would be killed even if I am white. I CAN GO and say england is the reason apartheid np whites were racist and we shoul blame england.
