App for temp..

Depends on which motherboard and gfx card you have. Motherboard monitor used to be able to read them all but with manufacturers refusing to give details on their chipsets it's no longer maintained and few apps are now universal.

You could try speedfan.

If you have an intel processor you can use core temp, and for gfx use rivatuner or ati tool (also works on nvidia cards)

You can use CoreTemp to measure the CPU temperature and nTune's NVIDIA Monitor to measure the temperature of NVIDIA cards. :)

I don't use SpeedFan because of the 15'C offset with quads (too much effort to correct it :p)

What? "This is not and Intel 'Core' processor"?

It hates my Centrino.

for mobile stuff you can also use intel thermal analysis tool (TAT for short)

I use speedfan for cpu and ntune and rivatuner for gfx. Use to use coretemp but since they don't have signed drivers and I am too lazy to press f8 each time I boot my pc I ain't using them any more.

I too use Speedfan, it reports temps for my cpu and gpu, as well as a couple of others. I had to do the 15C adjustment for my dual cores though. At first I thought "damn these things run cool", then I realised the room temp was higher :D

I think the 15'C offset is only for quad core CPUs

EDIT: Nope, it's for all Core2 CPUs with a 100'C TJunction :o

Not for me... I had to adjust too. The first version of CoreTemp I tried reported 15C off as well, and caused intermittent BSODs as a bonus  . I then tried a newer beta, fixed the BSODs as well the reported temperature.

I've since moved to Speedfan.

See my previous post :)

I've seen CoreTemp cause BSODs before, just hasn't happened to me yet :D

Ok, downloaded speedfan and got the following:

System:

Mobo: ASUS M2N SLi Deluxe
CPU: AMD 5200+ dual core
RAM: 2GB Corsair
GFX Card: Geforce 7800gtx
HDD: 320GB Sata
