Apple AirPort - Access Point

Anyone here currently have an Apple AirPort configured via ethernet cable as a wifi access point?
I'd like some feedback regarding setup, signal reach and performance please.

Not with me at present but have done a few in the past.

Generally very good and solid devices, just expensive compared to others.

So no serious problems/issues when configuring with 'other' brand of routers?
