iPhone 4 launched by Apple

Steve Jobs confirmed the much anticipated release the new iPhone at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference today.

The new generation of the popular Apple iPhone was officially announced today at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the latest iPhone which sports front and rear cameras, has high definition video capabilities, has a higher resolution screen, runs on the iPhone 4.0 OS and promises greater battery life than its predecessors.
 
We all knew it, we just needed Steve to confirm.

Def will be getting this!
 
bleh.. its true what he said though, after people saw the leaks they just waited or bought something else.
 
got to say - it looks nice under the skin, but my biggest gripe is the shape. the other iphones all had rounded edges that made daily handling a breeze. this one has square edges which goes against everything iphone
 
Im in Europe right now i hope they launch the Iphone before i leave for SA would love to come back with one of these babies.
 
not impressed at all..

out of all apple wwdc events....this one has been the least interesting..in terms of being revolutionary

can some explain to me why steve thinks that iAD is a feature that consumers would be intrested in ?
....yes i have seen the nissan leaf advert ...and I am sure most people would lose interest in it after 5 sec.

Its not longer iPhone OS uncle rpm :)

its iOS 4 now ...

I'm waiting to find out how much we're gonna get ripped a new one for this loverly piece of kit in this country... whats a bet about R12k?

Because it's a developer conference.
 
WOW i want to see that new screen in action!!! Don't digg the hard edges but I still think its impressive that you can pack the A4 processor, huge battery, brilliant screen into 9.6mm!
 
$200?

I had no idea iPhones were so cheap. Suddenly I see the appeal compared to R6000 for an HTC Desire...
 
$199 and $299, i hope they keep the prices close to that in SA
 
it is not that cheap.

that price is coupled with a 2 year contract which is mandatory.

Is that not the pay in price on a contract, you then have to pay monthly contract fees after that..
 
The 3GS is still R9k in this country... and I DON'T expect that to change since its still a "new" phone according to our backwards monkeys.
 
yes iy is. those prices are just pay in prices. after that you have to pay monthly payments for 2 years.
 
hmmm any idea when new software is available for the 3g/3gS - i think US Summer?
