Apple Censoring Comments about New iPhone4

Apple's holding a press conference tomorrow about the iPhone 4. Nothing listed in the invite.

Interested to hear what comes out of this. Giz reported that someone had taken back a defective i4 and received a replacement, noting differences in hardware and conjecting on the possibility of a 'silent' recall... all seems very strange tbh.

I also wonder how much AT&T has to do with this... all phones lose some signal depending on where they are/how they are held, etc. Maybe their signal is just too weak to withstand this? Then again whose fault is that? The other iterations and indeed other handsets don't have this issue... all very odd.

I see Roux is at it again....can't stay away from the Apple forums - perhaps a closet Apple lover

Anyway, yes...I will be buying a new iPhone 4 when my contract expires at the end of the year. The problem with the antenna is indeed a problem...however, I wouldn't have sleepless nights over it. It is a simple hardware fix that will be done in the manufacturing process with the next phones, so by the time I am ready for my iPhone 4, they would have changed the antenna problem.
All they need to do is have the counterpoise element exposed, and the other half (the radiating element) needs to be a few mm underneath a non-conductive surface....or vice-versa. I am surprised that the engineers did not take this into account in their design. Anyone that understands antenna's, and how they work, should realise that exposing the antenna, so that both halves of the antenna can be bridged by touch, would have the effect of introducing between 20 - 30db of attenuation.
But, like I said, incorporated into the manufacturing process - it is an easy-peasy fix, and will be done shortly. Nothing to have sleepless nights over - but I suppose it gives the Apple haters something to throw their toys out the cot about.
Besides....Apple have stood by their product, and offered a 100 % money back for customers that are unhappy. I wonder what other phone manufacturers would do that......hmmmmmm ? If they refused a money back, then I would see an issue, but they do offer a full money back, so whats the problem ?

Update: There are still some threads about the topic active at this time. You can see them here.
I also had topics I start deleted(because they're not about support) and they are not negative though, the Apple forum is for support mostly not discussions.
