Apple confirmed iPhone release date set at 26th September

Got the same.
2 of my clients are getting theirs on Sunday.
 
thats what've heard too... but that you will be able to buy it as a stand alone unit towards the end of the year.
 
I've got accurate information based on the terms that we've signed up as a Vodacom supplier.

So we've just got a stock allocation and we're getting stock on the 26th and we've been assigned a letter stating that the official release and launch of the iPhone will be the Friday the 26th.

Two things, firstly the iPhone will be tied to upgrades and new Vodacom contracts only.
The "PrePaid" iPhone will only be available towards the end of the year.

Some details we have yet to receive from Vodacom are the prices of the various contracts and what clients will have to pay in on the lower contracts.

Second thing is that there is a rumor within the Vodacom channel that the iPhone will have different (more expensive) tariff plans than normal phones to accommodate the new features such as visual voicemail (which apparently works)
 
Cybermoo... the 26th of this month is a Sunday... Also as far as I have hear (apple shop) is that they are going to stock the phones and sell them with a Vodacom contract. But then again its very hush hush and nothing is cast in stone.

Actually the 26th of this month is Friday. Just got another confirmation that we are getting 300 units!
 
:p NP. Original release date was expected to be Sunday 28th but it seems Vodacom has moved this forward.

Just remember that Core have no play in what the price of the iPhone will be. They don't even have a say about stock or warranties or anything!

Vodacom are brining the phone into SA and they (with Apple UK) are regulating the price. I still think it's going to be a bit pricey, I might be wrong tho as I believe Vodacom have to pay Apple a portion of everyone's billings. Thus the rumor that the iPhone packages will have a higher billing rate to accommodate this.
 
The iStore technicians are having a iPhone training session today in Joburg.
 
Yeah our guys went to the iPhone training session at Vodaworld yesterday and they are off to the Vodacom POS training today to learn about contracts and goodies.

The last we heard from Vodacom was an email form them this morning.

We had asked them for the prices and tariff plans or even the contract variations.

They simply told us that the requested information will be released tomorrow morning and that pricing was a closely guarded secret....

Kinda sucks!!!
 
LOL! I actually get given a .Mac/Mobile me account for the ASTO account I have (Apple Sales Training Online) When I complete a certain amount of courses Apple give me the account.
