Apple developer conference set for 5 June 2017

Why so expensive? Do the attendees get anything out of it other than being able to attend?

Like... I don't know.... a brand new iPad? And some socks?

Lol...your guess is as good as mine

I used to enjoy them but now it's just turning into a giant advert.
Every year there is less and less technical stuff in the main presentations.

What do you expect? It's a developer conference. That they sometimes take the opportunity to preview or launch hardware is just for convenience.

I think he's saying it should actually be a developer conference and not a PR exercise for the general public. They are getting lighter and lighter.

I've always only ever watched the keynote and they showcase their latest software in a consumer friendly manner. The technical stuff is in the other sessions. Don't see what's wrong with that unless you want the keynote to detail all the little intricacies of said software.

Much of it treats developers like children though. Why not just have a proper software keynote and not masquerade as a developer keynote? Keep it out of the conference altogether and leave those keynotes to technically minded people within Apple.

Not that I care either way. It would take an improbable degree of improvement for iOS to lure me over. Just using my step-dad's iPhone 7 for a few minutes when he's having issues with something fills me with rage and hatred. It's such a hilariously unintuitive operating system.

You seem confused.

You seem confused.

I was about to say the same thing. How anybody using an Android phone can call iOS unintuitive (well apart from file transfers) is beyond me.

Android is a convoluted mess and it needs a careful rethink. My niece has a P9 or Mate 9... The idea that home screens or screens are separate clusters from the app draw with merely shortcuts makes zero sense to me. Don't get me started on the settings... Basic things are buried under layers and layers.

 Huawei's interface doesn't even have an app drawer. You seem confused.

I'm okay now, but confusion definitely envelops me when using iOS.

Stopped reading at P9 and Mate 9. If we're comparing Android and iOS then use a good Android device for comparison. Not some fugly convoluted interpretation of Android.

Here's that great response again. You're not using 'virgin' Android.

I like the normal term of vanilla Android. Fits with the naming schemes.

Even with the more unfortunate Android devices, you can improve them drastically by installing a launcher like Nova and neatening things up. Hiding homescreen apps from the app drawer and moving games to a separate games tab in the app drawer makes things extremely quick and easy to navigate.

Whether you have a Samsung device or a Google device, your homescreen can still look like this:

Nobody cares. You came into an Apple thread and brought up Android.

You do the same thing in the WhatsApp threads with your Telegram circle jerk.

I've used most platforms, Nexus, Huawei, iPhone. If you can't get the interface after a while then you're the problem not the interface.

Mentioning a superior alternative in WhatsApp news threads is relevant if the article was based around WhatsApp's shortcomings. And if you re-read my post above you'll find that I wasn't the first person to mention Android.

I can use an iPhone - I'm not retarded. I can also use Zyxel routers. But why subject yourself to an inferior user experience?

It would take a lot for iOS to lure you away from what Bryn? Windows Mobile? Don't be obtuse.
