Apple Event - 8th March 2022

So right at the end they said the "Mac Pro" is being left for another day. Any guesses as to what that might be? Two M1 Ultras on a motherboard then? Supposedly the Studio Ultra is already 80% faster than the previous top end Mac Pro.
My guess would be a single M1 Ultra on a motherboard. Better PSU would allow for higher power draw. Combined with better cooling, possibly higher clocks, maybe a 24-core version and 256/512GB RAM support. Not sure how many additional lanes they have available for more memory/connectivity, but I'd imagine the usual - expandable storage, some form of discrete GPU for machine learning or something.

In the context of Spizz's post, I'm not sure pointing out that some of those phones are *only* two and a bit years-old is quite the dunk you think it is, bsb.
Lol yet the Honor 9 lite I passed on to a family member after two years still got through a day quite easily. Plus the SE2 launched in May 2020 here so it's way less than 2 years.

My guess is a quad version of fusion Mac Pro but I have my doubts about a traditional mobo with expansion slots but time will tell. I’m thinking along the lines of the new studio just taller perhaps.

Marvellous. Why don’t go and you start an Honor 9 Lite thread and discuss it’s incredible battery life with like minded sad people?

Butthurt much? NeonNinja asked a question and I replied. I can go buy a Android phone with better battery life for 8 times less than an iPhone SE2.

Wow. You are the man. I wish I could do that but I’m stuck with Apple for life and I’ve got no choice. Bah. You so lucky.

Mac Studio looks awesome. Biggest surprise for me is the inclusion of M1 in the new iPad Air - the rumours predicted 5G and front camera with centre stage etc but if I recall correctly, M1 was not expected? In any case, my current iPad is starting to show its age so the new Air could be a worthwhile replacement, as iPad Pro pricing is a little over my budget.

More impressive is that it’s at the same price.

Sad it still hasn’t gotten FaceID though.

Yes but iPhone people actually want to use their phones, hence the higher battery drain.

Obviously if you just leave the phone alone on your desk all day it’s going to last forever.

New SE is a bit disappointing. Same thing just faster chip. Thought someone said that the 13 mini will be the last mini, so I thought maybe the SE will replace it in the mini body with a full screen.

Yes some of us have a life, we don't spend our whole day on the phone. We just need a small phone that work perfectly when we want it to.
There is a phone for everyone's preferences. My SE last 2 days easily, even have 30% left after 2 days.
If you buy a phone that's not compatible with your usage, then you kind of an idiot and did not do proper research.

My iPhone 8 still gets through a day easily. As pointed out, it depends on your usage. Most of my usage is hanging up on spam callers in the US, you have no idea how bad that is here, although they are finally cracking down on it. Most are now marked as spam call, so it’s just the red button

Another thing Apple are yet to fix.
Here’s what it’s like blocking spam calls and texts on the Pixel.

Oh, sorry, it’s like nothing. You don’t have to do anything: spam calls and texts are blocked. You don’t hear the phone ring, you don’t see notifications, you don’t have to block numbers, and you don’t need to clean a list of recent phone calls. You are just never aware of them.

Shame must suck that Apple's got you by the short and curlies.

I take the piss out of your playground reasoning and you still bite like a rabid zombie. No brain.

But to spell it out, I’ve had many Androids and still use a Samsung tab and phone daily for work, but I much prefer to use my iPhone.

Honestly, how can we still be having people like you in 2022? You like your cheap schist phone with the car sized battery, brilliant, fill your boots. But I’m not you. I don’t think like you and I make different choices than you because I have different needs and preferences than you. Why would you think otherwise?
