While one may argue that rival OS, Windows, already has these applications bundled for free within the operating system, once you compare prices you should notice that iLife ’09 (and the Mac OS X operating system for that matter) is one of the best-priced software suites on the market today. Even paying R400 more for the Family Pack seems like the type of bargain Windows users rarely see.

lol, DVD from Apple upgrade centre in the UK. Why would I pay R400 for a image file ?

How did you go about getting that? I only use iPhoto and dont see the need to pay R800 just for the upgrade, but R400 might be worth it.
