Apple Introduces MacBook Air

WOW!

sexy!!! now if it was a pc not a mac, this would already be in my house :D

Nothing is stopping you from installing windows on it. I don't see why you would want to though.

It looks nice and all. But $1800, and no optical drive, the 1.8" hdd will be slowish, and $3000 for the ssd is insane...
But still think it will be a hit, anything Apple is... But I will stick to my MacBook Pro for now.

I'm not so sure I'd be too keen on a laptop with a non-user replaceable battery. :o

Wish someone had taken the effort to convert all the imperial to metric. The mental arithmetic gave me a headache.

Its really is agreat machine for those who can afford 2 macs.. One for poweruser stuff and other for portability.

That being said, powerusers tend to be the only ones willing to spend th kind of money needed to buy the machine, but yet it wont do the job for many power users.

Sadly, it has what i think could be summed up as two major problems.

Poweruser price- without poweruser performance and specs.

And

No removable battery - for the poweruser who wants the portability and convenience of 2 batteries.

If i were living in the "us of a", and i could just run down to the store and get the battery replaced relatively quickly, then maybe i could live with it. But for us in deap dark africa, i cant see myself being too keen to send the machine to core to often..

Although, the 5 hour battery life is impressive.

sad sad day indeed...

lol... now where is my macbook pro update i was waiting for. yes bwana.. u can start laughing now

at?

i have been mentioning for some time now that i was holding off from buying a macbook pro. till january... where i said i am sure the new macbook pros would be launched.

ive probably waited about 4 months.

Ah - well you've waited this long so you might want to go the distance. http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#MacBook_Pro

Yes i think i must. Only problem is, something tells me apple will hold off for something big with montevina. Thats still some time away.

I must say though, i like the new design theme which they used on the macbook air. Bodes well for a body refresh on the macbook pro's.

Eish, but then i have to ride the 1st gen jitters. But ill wait anyhow. I can quite easily carry on like i am.

Any news on when nvidia or daamit will be releasing a significant graphics update to their mobile cards? Anyone?

On second thought, i can always hope and pray for a significant penryn update.
