iOS7 arrives

With consumers eagerly awaiting the release of two new iPhones this week, the more dramatic change may be in the software, not the hardware

Having lots of issues trying to download (on OSX 10.8.5).

First it wants you to update iTunes to 11.1 (whichs keeps on failing).

Guess will have to wait a few days till the "first world" gets their share... :(

Ok, finally started the download.. 184MB... And now an error has occurred!

Apple, apple, apple :(

OK, googled for a direct link and now grabbing the DMG. Interesting App Store update is 184MB, direct "google" DMG is 225.6MB. 1 hour 40 mins to wait.

So much for "delta updates". I have iTunes 11.0.5 for crying out loud.

So I heard that the new "background updates" is killing the battery life of your device (older models). Anybody that can comment on that?

If that is the case I don't think I want o upgrade just yet :(

I had the beta releases on a iPhone 5, and my battery life was a lot better

ios7 is horrible !!! is the exact same thing over and over with new icons... not impressed at all

You can disable background updating. I have.

Bit of a bummer, one generation old and on the scrapheap.
4th gen iPod Touch only has 256mb ram and was released along with iPhone4, so really 3 generations but it just spanned over 4 and 4s without an update. It would get totally crushed in iOS7. iPhone4 can barely barely run it. It's hardly on the scrapheap though.

updated my iphone 4 without any issues last night at 10pm. Awesome look and feel. Impressed so far..

Have you seen it on the iPhone 4?

I updated my daughters iPhone 4 last night
Works fine

Updated my iPhone 5 ages ago (with the Dev edition)

Installed it on the iPad 2 and 3 also fine
Now for the Touches

I haven't no. I do know that 1) they cut out a lot of the graphical flourishes and 2) Anand reported it chunked down his phone quite a bit.

I read an article about the Apple update process.
This iOS7 update is probably going to be the biggest fast rollout ever.
Must be a hell of a challene

I had a couple of false starts last night (started at 7pm) but all done and dusted
