No 3g (yet), no camera, tiny storage space - epic fail!
Really? The only real measure of a fail is the market place and its your prediction looks likely to be a fail.
The iPad - Its not a laptop, was never intended to be a laptop, never will be a laptop. Why would Apple do that and eat their own market? I was never expecting OSX on the iPad despite the fact that I would love it.
The trouble with most of these tech blogs is that the techie geeks (and I am one) on them often struggle to think beyond their own desires.
On this site in particular many people seem to think they represent the needs of all people. Well they don't. They represent a very small population of geeks that have very little influence in the market place.
Remember most computer users are pretty clueless when it comes to technology.
What does this large majority want?
* Switch it on and be running very quickly - Check
* Email - Check
* Web - Check
* Word processing and spreadsheets - Check via a $10 app
* And watch the App Space.
* They would like it cheap - Well no check there.
They will plug the camera gap in Generation 2, that news is already leaked. And version 4 of the OS is going to fix many of the weaknesses (multi tasking etc.)
There are some other gaps. Storage. Well there is a 64GB version but I suspect Generation 2 will have a 128GB version.
Many of the iPad critics are people that were anti Apple to begin with.
Its more expensive than PC technology and people seem to pay.
Apple-TV was a flop (well sort of). And every company has flops. I suspect the iPad will *not* be a flop.
