Apple iPhone 16 range unveiled

Yes the list of missing features I posted would've disappeared with a flagship phone. I actually have another one to add. Widgets on iOS is better. It's not just me saying it as well.
Poor Google. It was an early innovator in mobile widgets as part of the initial version of Android in 2008. But then Apple came long, belatedly adding widgets to the iPhone in iOS 14 in 2020. And as is so often the case, Apple’s slow-boil approach paid off. Widgets were immediately more useful–not to mention prettier–in iOS than they’d ever been on Android–and that gap has only grown since.

That’s actually not bad timing … it only took Apple 12 years to get this point. They’re speeding up implementation of features. Though, in fairness Always On was about a decade until ‘the market was ready’

And the part that I love most is that for 12 years the market wasn’t ready / wasn’t established and users spent over a decade saying they don’t need widgets / it’s a non-issue.

And then one day … the market was established and overnight widgets became important because Apple said so
