Why get a new one, save R4k and get a mint one secondhand?
Plenty 16e's on Facebook Marketplace for R7k just wait till a decent looking person is selling one.

Not an overriding data point, as long as it’s a decent looking person and not one of these foreigners that somehow have dozens of phones for sale it’s normally fine. You do need to check a few things are working like True Tone/Face ID/battery health etc but AI can easily make a checklist to go through.

And definitely don't buy the phone from whichever weirdo places Smiggles buys his secondhand phones from.
 
If you’re not fussed about new, One day only often have refurbished 14s and such like.
