Apple iPhone 17 thread

Finally heard back from iStore on my order, they started processing it and came back with a decline. Found out they submitted someone else's details/incorrect bank details on my order so got decline. Went directly to Vodacom instead and should be getting it next week!
Poor customer service has become a pandemic with all these retailers and networks, like what do they mean they inputted the wrong details!?
Glad Vodacom sorted you out but honestly, it goes to show how bad data management is with these companies.

Personally I'm not a Airpods person, but won't mind if Vodacom had the option to add a Apple Watch to phone contracts, since a watch upgrade is also well over due for me.

Cases was discussed earlier, personally I've always been a fan of Speck Presidio Grip cases, I've had them on all my iPhones since the iPhone 7 and I'm sure they saved me from damage quite a few times over the years.
On all my previous ones the grippy rubber inlays started to show some wear after 2 or so years, but when some rubber pieces started coming off, I just bought a new cover. They say life time warranty, but I never bothered to find out how this works or the T&C's behind it.
Vodacom do offer that. I got an Apple Watch added to my iPhone contract three years ago. It’s handy because you use Vodacom OneNumber on GSM watches and your phone.

You don’t only have to get whatever the magazine shows you: these days pretty much any device can be paired with any accessory as far as I’m aware.

Yeah is a bit scary that even though I had to upload documents they somehow submitted the wrong documents but Vodacom were a gem sorted in a day, right details captured. Honestly been shocked by the iStore lately service has gone through the toilet!

I must say I am impressed that I got my 17 Pro so quickly from Amazon. Did not expect that.

I used it myself & it works well to test if you're buying 2nd hand or nearly new.

It was a joke because of all the random **** people have received instead of what they ordered from Amazon, but peace of mind is always a good thing.

iPhone 17 Pro Max vs. Galaxy S25 Ultra vs. Pixel 10 Pro XL Battery Test - PhoneBuff

Absolutely amazing performance by the 17 Pro Max.
I can definitely echo it, the battery life is great.
BUT I think this should indeed be the expectation when they put “Pro Max” on an iPhone, it has been great watching Apple progress this, they had a bit of a slip with the 14 Pro Max due to reducing battery capacity coming from the 13 Pro Max, same thing happened with 12 Pro Max coming from 11 Pro Max.

From 15 Pro Max and up they have certainly kept it up, I remember the 16 Pro Max being an excellent performer from the tests I saw (never owned one) but a colleague of mine has a 16 PM since late last year and she never complains about battery life or needing to top up.

Going by all the posts it seams like there is limited stock so it will be a waiting game either way, but would you say their is any advantage upgrading to the 17 with Vodacom rather than with iStore, do the one offer any additional perks over the other? I intend trying the online thing, since my very first iPhone which was the 6, I've always upgraded my Vodacom contract at the iStore. I think the last contract upgrade I did at a Vodacom store was upgrading to a Nokia.
