Hi there. I have an iPhone 4S. On about 21 January it was suddenly unable to connect to a WiFi access point at work to which it had always been able to do. So I tried to connect it to my personal WiFi access point which I always carry and to which I have been able to do since I set it up last year. This also failed along with my connecting to my WiFi access point at home. I then read about Apple iPhone 4S WiFi issues (some prevailing since last year in September). I then disabled security on both my personal and home WiFi access points and my iPhone was able to connect. What seems strange is that some iPhones/iPads cannot connect to secure WiFi access points.

Is anyone aware of iPhones WiFi security bugs which seem to exist currently. Resetting the network settings has not helped. I upgraded from iOS 6.0.1 to 6.1 but this has not helped even if I reset the device or the network settings.

Unsure what to do next except to make all my WiFi access points unsecured and with hidden SSID's.
Is there a fix - maybe time to ditch Apple and go for Samsung or Ubuntu when it comes.

are you 100% sure that your Wi-Fi routees are not set to only allow specific MAC addresses??
I have the 4S and do not have any of these issues. It sounds stange that with no security, it will connect, but once you put the security back up, it won't... this is what lead me to my question about MAC addresses...

Hi there. I disabled MAC filtering in about August 2012. And I set up a guest last Friday to connect to my AP. What makes me think it is an issue is that I had to disable security on 2 AP's I was able to connect to. And at work I have noticed that other Apple iOS devices have the same problem. It also only seems to be devices on iOS 6 and higher. The iOS 5.1.1 devices seem to be OK.

I have also noticed that my 3G reception has got worse too.
