Some companies even disable USB access and prohibit even flash drives.

Dropbox is now also being blocked, along with Youtube, facebook etc.

I honestly can't remember posting anything about it being fraud using a foreign itunes account although I might be mistaken.


I know all us Android fanboys gets grouped together but there is a slight difference between BeVonk! and Crowley. I will give you some time to see if you can spot it.

Yep. Things can get ugly. We have two kinds of users: Normal User and Power User. Normal has everything locked as described. Power User at least have full USB and CD/DVD access.

Look around and you'll find lots of people who love iTunes.

S hitty 3rd party software has always been necessary to get the most out of your mobile device while syncing it to pc, think Nokia PC Suite, Samsung PC Studio, Blackberry desktop software etc etc etc Compared to this lot iTunes is an absolute pleasure.

In any event wireless syncing and cloud computing has been around for almost a year now so the dependency on iTunes is almost nill.

Isn't mp3 a globally accepted standard?

You didn't... Plenty did. What you did 'tho was ask R13... to respond to the rest of CoolBug's post where he was pointing out that Apple made it difficult to Bluetooth music or copy from a friend's machine... I simply asked why the double standard.

Well it's kind of tough to answer. One individual wants absolutely no shade of illegality (one wonders how exactly he configured Android to do the things that iPad can't do in his corporate environment), and the other insists on complete openness. And both point to Apple as having failed them in their respective needs.


But here's the thing: if you need to do something that iPhone can't do, then don't get an iPhone. That's totally understandable. I frequently advise my friends etc to get an Android device if I know it suits their situation better. It's the kind of thing where you look at what's available and then research to see if it can do what you want, and if it can't you find an alternative. You might be a highly technical user or just have specific requirements, or can't afford an iPad. I had an hour long conversation with a guy on the bus yesterday where we tried to see what the best tablet for him was, and eventually I advised him to get the Nexus 7.

But you have to admit we have something to show for said rivalry. Android paid more attention to design as it matured and Apple more to functionally both thanks to people "bragging" about their platforms. I can not wait for Windows Phone 8 to come join the fray so that we can see what it forces our preferred platforms to upgrade. Purview on iPhone 6? or incorporated Office in Android 5. Whatever it will be I am glad that we have this rivalry and competition because it forces innovation.

I just wish they can leave the courts out of it, and let people pick with their wallets.
 
And if you buy/borrow a song from iTunes and want to make it your ring tone?

As far as I know you have to buy the song again, or there is an alternate 12 step process.

No need to buy again, you can do it in iTunes or, if you're on a Mac, you can use GarageBand.
