Apple launching processor research centre in Jerusalem

Apple recruitment specialist Elad Wertheimer has announced that the company is opening a research and development site in Jerusalem to develop future Mac processors.

“The site will take part in the flagship projects that we are leading from Israel, first and foremost the development of future processors for the Mac,” Wertheimer said.

Coincidentally, Intel also has R&D in Israel..

Some Intel engineers could be offered some really good money to jump ship....

Intel has more than R&D in Israel. Most of the development of some generations happened in Israel rather than the US. In fact as far as I remember it was the Israel development center that created the first Intel Core processors and rescued intel from the disaster that Pentium 4 was shaping up to be. Before that I think Intel Israel was core to the creation of iHDL (which Intel used before VHDL and Verilog became mainstream).

So yes -- there is a lot of Intel talent for Apple to prey on :-)

Screw the Palestinians, right? As an apple fan am conflicted.

Wait for it, we gonna have marches in South Africa to demand we stop buying Apple products and anything with an Intel CPU…

Just glad they got rid of the Israeli tomatos and saved our country.
