Apple Maps exec gets the boot for refusing apology letter

Isn't Browett's departure immediate? All articles I've read so far seem to suggest this, specifically only mentioning Forstall as leaving in 2013.

and that ladies and gentlemen is the start of the apple crumble...

Forstall seems to be getting more of a punishment, he can only leave next year, but he has already lost all responsibilities. He is going to be an "adviser" to Tim Cook, sound like something an intern would normally do.

No Jobs, no play nice?

Jobs used to fire execs arses fairly often
I bet you Cook was more polite.

If you read the US Business Magazines you will find that for years Forstall has had his issues.
He is a good delivery manager but he doesn't get on well with his peers.
He does this to the point of undermining them.

He has now slipped up and given Cook the opportunity to ****can him.

I admire them for having the guts to fire someone for not living the values.

I think this is what you call good quality control and accountability. You don't do it you pay for it. No one is irreplaceable.

Just because its Apple the haters go for it. I wish we could dump staff or directors this easily in this country for screwing up. We moan about this all the time in this country and suddenly Apple have done something wrong.

Well done Apple. This is what we want to see happen when managers screw-up and then have the arrogance to state that there is nothing to apologize for. The maps saga is not good for the brand and there must be consequences when the brand is harmed by poor quality outputs. That Streetview is missing from the iPad is a really sad development. My Android tablet is not mine anymore because Streetview disappeared off my wife's iPad after upgrading it to iOS6 ... LOL!
