Apple posts billion-dollar profit

The firm also plans to open more of specialty Apple Stores internationally, with shops opening in Australia, China and Switzerland in coming months.
How about one in SA? Or even a iTS? :o

internationally means 1st world countries.
SA has the economy to justify it.

At least Core got a semi-dishonourable mention on MBW this week and part of the reason why we pay so much - maybe someone at Apple was listening. :D

Don't think that 5% of computers here are macs.
Ja, i'm guessing.

So not a big market here, well under $10 million a year here in turnover, that I'm pretty sure of.

I would say that Apple have Microsoft and Vista to thank for the huge growth in Mac sales.

Thing could be very different if Apple didnt treat their international markets with such disdain.

Yeah, they would.
We want Apple more than they want us.
And its not just SA - Apple is notoriously for ripping the UK a new one with their high prices - the UK even pays (paid?) more for iTS downloads than the rest of Europe.

Yeah, they must be brainwashing us somehow.:)
I'd even be happy to pay high prices here.

I buy everything from the states - if I wasnt able to do that I cant say with any certainty what I would do.

Core's supply in SA sucks to be honest. They could have a serious market penetration rate if only they could supply the smaller guys as easily as they do the big retailers. Waiting periods of weeks on iPods etc are just ridiculous!

now if you consider that Telkom made 2 Billion US Dollars AFTER tax - it shows you just how much they are ripping us off
