Absolutely wrong.

Apple dont publish numbers on consignments. They calculate actual sales only.

Samsung on the other hand dont publish actual sales by device. The numbers are based on projections by analysts

Of course you can. You can compare sales of iPhones against migratory patterns of Egyptian geese if you want. It's quite relevant to put sales of one phone against another though, if what you want to break down is popularity of individual devices.
