I have a better device - lighter, better built quality and can run any Windows app and play any video - not just H264 Basic Profile. Point is that there are better netbooks than the cheap clunkers you see at Incredible Connection.
No, it's not a new communications device - that's pure hype. It's a crippled laptop with an optimised touch interface in tablet form. It doesn't use pixies to communicate - it uses standard 3G and WiFi - the same all laptops, netbooks and ultraportables are capable of.
Peter, I own a 64GB 3G iPad, and believe me, it IS all it's cracked up to be. NO, it's NOT a laptop, it doesn't pretend to be. It is a completely different device, so please don't try to compare it to a laptop - it's NOT one. I have a MacBook Pro, and it does NOT mean I will sell my MBP. My MBP has it's place, and so does my iPad. My iPad is totally mobile with it's 3G connection to Vodacom ie. it travels with me wherever I go. If I am waiting for a pizza, I can whip out the iPad - with no boot-up time !!!!!!!!, and read a downloaded magazine, or book, and do some reading, or check email or browse the internet - all in a small, but yet highly interactive device.
Please own one before you spew uninformed vitriol
I wish some could have the dignity to admit success, and give credit where credit is due. Like it or not......the iPad is a runaway success, and even better news - next month when we upgrade our iPads firmware, it will be an even more of an incredible device, with more than 100 additions. You cannot deny the success - I was in the USA 10 days ago, and every single Apple store across the entire USA was out of the iPad - of every size and variation, wifi only and also wifi with 3G. The iPad has also recently helped Apple to pip Microsoft in terms of market cap.
