E-reader sales soaring

Sales of electronic book readers are booming, companies are jostling for a share of the fledgling market and Amazon's going global with the Kindle.

And not just a black-and-white e-reader but one that would boast full color and a 25-centimetre screen making it more of an oversized iPod Touch or a netbook computer, the increasingly popular low-cost mini-laptops.

Sorry but that's not the kind of device I want to use as an e-reader. ePaper seems to be much easier on the eyes and much more efficient battery-wise.

The whole point of an eReader is to get as close to a book as possible. You want the longest battery life and having other add-ons are not necessary. If you want multimedia get a notebook or netbook, that's not what an eReader is for.
