On another note - if I change my DNS to run Netflix, will I have access to the other things I've seen like SkyNews, ESPN or Disney? Are they free and live channels?

Most of them you need a subscription some are free - HBO app asks for subscription no. for example, not to sure about the ones you just mentioned I would guess you do need a subscription.

I bought it for Netflix, but the more things I can do with it, the better I feel about buying it

EDIT : All sorted - it works. I'll probably just use it for that - but I do have a query. Apple Trailers seem to run at Full HD when I select a trailer and buffers the full length of trailer before playing.

Go to Settings>iTunes Store>Video Resolution and change it to your preferred setting.
Switch off HD Previews as well while you there.

That's the only settings for video quality that i'm aware of.

I bought a cheap one online from DX.com and an expensive one from the iStore or Incredible Connection. (can't be sure which shop it was since both places have the amazing ability of being incompetent but still having the ability of making your cash disappear). Both the cheap cable and expensive cable worked perfectly fine. If you lived close by, I would have given you one.
