Apple TV4 US account payment validation required

Hi,

When I try to download something from iTunes using my US account, I'm getting an error message to first confirm my payment method on iTunes on my Mac. But this step requires a US credit card as it doesn't accept prepaid vouchers as a form of payment. I can download everything on all my other devices but ATV4 asks for this to be validated.

Any way to bypass this?

Sign out of the App Store on the Apple TV and sign back in.

If above does not work try making a purchase (paid item) from another device then try to download on the Apple TV.

Quick question, does your Apple ID have a uppercase letter and a special character in it?
 
Ok. Some time ago I had to change my password to Apple's new format of uppercase as well as a special character due to the same verification thing happening to me.

very strange. If the logging out/in doesn't do the trick I will change the password and try again.
 
changed password, logged out, logged in, same problem.

tried to purchase free item, asks for verification. Tried to purchase a paid item, have balance on the account, asks for verification...

so annoying
 
not sure what I did but I think it started working after I attempted a purchase in iTunes on Mac at it asked me for verification through security questions.

So now I can finally use iTunes on ATV4 with my US account.

SO HAPPY!
