Apple unveils MacBook Pro M4

Lol, more deflection. But okay, where did I question anything you said or defend anything Apple against you? On any thread, go now. Find and bring back...
What deflection?

I’m so confused

… because I asked why change in 11 months? Really? 😂

No. Go back and read the words I wrote and then try and apply "com. pre. hen. shun"

There, I spelled it out for you.

What's wrong with 8GB?

That was never the argument.
My question is why say 8GB is enough and brilliant and amazing ... and then a year later say 'oh yes we discontinued the 8GB models that we raved about'. Was there something specifically that made them discontinue the models?

You could say :

Apple Inteillegence or just erupt that someone is questioning your favourite brand

Because, Apple don’t do all the R&D into their machines and build + ship within the same year.

So when the 8GB M1 models were out - Apple was already working on the newer models - such as M3 etc.

At the time of launch - 8GB was sufficient and they were correct. They never said 8GB will be amazing and sufficient forever - it was at the time of release.

Apple intelligence has been in the works for a very long time. If Apple had released 16gb + only models, plebs like you would be moaning “why no 8gb model” - can’t win. And Apple could not say “oh because we have this shiny new feature in 2yrs time coming so 16gb is min then”

They did what was correct at the time. Sell the 8gb model to people who don’t need more than that and have a 16gb model as a base model when bundled software requires it.

How long ago was it they defended the 8GB RAM - and more importantly - why the switch from something that they said works better than anything else?
Here was my question and your replies ... which make no sense / a bit of spamming / sarcasm and no real reply :/

In fact, my 486 worked great with 4MB. Why do they keep upgrading things with newer and faster technology. I'm outraged
I'm laughing at your desperate attempts to comment negatively on all things Apple so you can have another fight.
and then try and apply "com. pre. hen. shun"
spoiling for another argument when an Apple thread pops up
Lol, more deflection
Try reading instead of climbing in feet first.

Value offering. Noones buying a MacBook Air M3 with 16GB and 512GB for the same price as a MacBook Pro M4 with 16GB and 512GB of storage. That doesn't mean the 8GB models are useless they're simply ensuring they sell older generation MacBooks by increasing the value offering and trying to avoid:

1) Air customers buying Pro
2) Air customers not buying any Air products until the new Air SKUs are released
3) Having a really cheap 8GB MacBook on their site that will divert attention from the new $1200+ price point - They'll push this stock into the big box stores and foreign markets where they're still selling like hotcakes. Hence why we can still by a MacBook Air M1 8GB/256GB new on Takealot.

It's all there in the first post. Are you really that thick that you can't catch my meaning hidden behind a bit of sarcasm, or are you saying now that a year is NOT a long time in technology regarding advancement in hardware, software and pricing?

I didn't say they were useless - I was curious about dropping them so soon after punting them

So why did you cut the rest of his post which explained pretty well some of the possible reasons for it?

Are you really that thick
Do you know that every time we chat, you spam the threads until they gave to be closed and really just ruin everything? You have 10 posts in here ranting.

And the insults … whew.

Is everything ok at home? Do you need to chat anyone?

There is much truth in the 8GB memory story (especially versus Windows & 16GB), but the bottom line here is that Apple are a business – not a charity. Unfortunately manufacturers need to keep finding ways to make their products attractive. Especially when you consider how Apple devices last 2 - 3 times as long as Windows devices (and to a large extent, Androids). Apple devices are true value for money.

If you're gonna nitpick a few words from every response you're not contributing to a reasonable discussion. The answer you seek and provided is that it's a value offering adjustment. You'll find the 8GB models for months or years to come through other channels - just not on Apple.com.

Good grief, irony thy name is Dolby.

And the insults … whew.

Like telling me I'm a sheep and I don't have an opinion? I take that as a huge insult and it's your leading line every time.

Is everything ok at home? Do you need to chat anyone?

More insults? Classy.

Ai jinne tog another playground fight in an Apple thread.

You gave a proper answer & I didn't hit back at you with any counter. In fact, most of the people did a proper answer. And

As for contributing to a meaningful discusion, I asked a question - so I guess the best I can do to contribute is say 'thanks' ?
