Apple versus Adobe

Flash 10.1 on Froyo goes tete-a-tete with Flash Lite 4 on Eclair: butter vs. stutter (video)

Flash 10.1 looks pretty good to me considering it being in a Beta/RC stage.

Hmm... Engadget also says:
Ergo, our beloved handset got piping hot after about 30 minutes of heavy video watching, and the battery indicator in the upper right had a sizable dent.

Maybe not yet ready for prime time?

Catch 22

This is interesting.

First of all, I don't particularly like flash, but I also don't particularly like Apple's arrogance.
People say that Adobe's products are expensive, yet they fail to see how expensive Apple's products are? It's ridiculous to see how much a Mac costs. So, I hope Apple do get hurt a bit(ok, quite a bit (: )

Someone mentioned it not taking long for Apple devs to just quickly fix up GIMP and then put it on Macs from the get go. How long has Photoshop been worked on? There's no way that Apple devs can make something like Photoshop very "quickly"...

my 2c.

BobJones, if you want to be an ****** about something, do make sure your 'facts' are lined up. FroYo (Android 2.2) has been released on the Nexus One, and is sure to follow steadily for other handsets. It's not the Beta you think it is... Just sayin' ;)

HTC Desire runs something called Flash lite - not even Adobe claims that there is a full version of flash running on any smartphone. Can you buy a HTC Desire in SA?

Yes.

Er, no... it has been announced and a developer preview (beta build) and SDK have been released - to developers. And if we go by previous examples, you can look forward to it being in google "beta" for several years.:wtf:

So run on out and get the sdk download for your nexus one.:)

It's been released.

So the update is being pushed so far to three people that the blogger knows about and specifically to the free phones that were distributed to media, and somehow I'm being the ******?
Why not go take your precious nexus phone and go stick it where the signal is low and the touch screen will get sticky.
Yesterday Google announced that Froyo would be shipping in "the next few weeks", and you say it's in general distribution 'cause three journos with free phones are getting preferential downloads?
Maybe go and read the google i/o blog I linked to and then try again.
