Considering one of these at the moment but have a few questions... Looking at the Apple Watch Sport.

Is the 42mm much better than the 38mm in daily use? I'll only use it for fitness and notifications... No games and that stuff.
If you have a thick wrist, trust me the small one looks weird and more girly (the watches are unisex). I reckon wrist size matches up with finger size so smaller wrist, smaller finger. Try unlocking it at the store and see if you have issues.

Can I use it with more than one device? Not at the same time of course. I've got an iPod Touch I'd like to use it with every now and then (music control) as well as my iPhone on a daily basis.
Regarding the above, can I sync the music playlist with the iPod and have it connected to the iPhone afterwards?
How loud is the speaker? Will it work well with calls and sat nav while in a car for example?
but yah it's not the best and I always have my headset with me. Your watch is basically a receiver type device and not an origin for calls, so no.. U can connect to it to push eg music/audio from watch to car, car handling calls from phone and music from watch is dependent on car supporting multiple devices. You can also connect to other Bluetooth LE fitness sensors, eg cadence.
Can I connect my iPhone to the watch and my car's Bluetooth system at the same time?
Durability of the Sport model? Will I crack it if I bump a wall?
Worth buying or is it one of those purchases that end up in the drawer?
Still looking for one... I've got one in mind but not so keen on buying it just yet.
Thinking of waiting for version 2. The other thing stopping me is that I'll be limited to iPhone only if I get one
Aha lovely man. Looks classy.
What's your take on it & how much coin did it set you?
Lastly the "lag"...fine or a pain?
Okay lovely.Fairly decent saving over the hefty original price.
No lag that I've noticed... I'm not using it to its full potential but I'm quite enjoying what I've tried so far. Seems like a decent toy![]()
Decided to bite the bullet, and got myself a new Watch Sport 42mm from the iStore, I'm very happy with it so far.
What I like:
- Nightstand mode, to serve as an alarm clock next to the bed, I just have to lightly bump the bedside table for the time to show
- The fact that I can keep my iPhone in my pocket, and just quickly raise my wrist to view the time and any notifications
- The workout functions, measuring heartbeat, calories consumption, etc.
- As luck would have it, it supports the app I use for daily "brain training" (Elevate)
- I like the fact that I can use Shazam on it
What I don't like:
- Siri doesn't register my voice input about 10% of the time
- Maintaining the settings could be streamlined
Battery life is not too bad at all, everyone uses it differently, well to use yesterday as an example, I received two calls on it, used it a few times for iMessage, played some games on it, and tested out the remote camera function. Also demonstrated the various functions to a colleague who wanted to see. Left home 6:30am with a full charge, when I got home 17:30 it still had 68% battery power left.
Did not know that it uses green LED's to measure blood flow in order to measure heartbeat, quite cool.
Some of the functions are useful, others are gimmicks but nice, if nothing else. Some people like it, some people don't, I fall in the first category. Overall I'm happy with the speed and interface. Looking forward to install watch OS 3 next month.
Yes, I could have waited for the Watch 2 (they expect it to get released next month, and maybe it would have been available in SA 2-3 months after that, who knows), but maybe it would have been much more expensive and the additional functionality (according to the rumours) are not that critical to me.
Hope this mini review is useful for anybody considering one. Feel free to ask any questions.
The iPhone 7 will definitely be here that time, my guess is sometime in mid October. The watch on the other hand I am not so sure of... Might be a while.
