Apple on Friday offered to fix some older iPhone 5 smartphones with flawed on-off buttons.

Why am I not surprised.

It's the 2nd of May - has anyone tried to have their phones repaired yet?

I can not believe this! Apple is such leaders in innovation and service. This is unbelievable!

iPhones are the only phones Vodacom excludes from their 2 year warrantee program, giving it only 1 year. I've had my phone for nearly 18 months, so it came as good news when I heard they will fix this problem free of charge.

When I called the Cresta Vodacom repair branch, I was told that it will take 2 weeks and no loan phone, also they were unsure as to whether it would be free of charge.

I think I will give it a week... let the internal Vodacom bulletin first be circulated else I may see myself having to pay for the repair.
