I had an ATV2 - brilliant little device, jailbroken and my XBMC front. Only outputs 720P though and I wanted to upgrade to 1080P.

Also have the ATV3, not using it at all, as it can't be jailbroken and you can't run XBMC on it. In hindsight I should have kept the ATV2.

Now running XBMC on a Intel NUC - solid, no issue device and very responsive. Much more expensive than an ATV though.

I have such a hodge-podge of devices these days it's bordering on ridiculous.

For the longest time my media centre was just my old mini. My ancient plasma didn't have HDMI so my options were limited and it all worked just fine. XBMC for local content and a browser for my Netflix/NowTV. Then my plasma packed in…

My new LCD had HDMI, and little else, but I was able to connect the Mini (which predated HDMI) and I ordered a £10 NowTV box. A day after buying the new LCD a mate offered me his 32" LCD so I said thanks and put that in a second room with the XBOX hoping I could use that for streaming… which of course I couldn't so when the NowTV box arrived that went into the second room and by side loading Plex I could watch everything except Netflix. So when we went to the UK I picked up a Roku 1 which went into the second room, replacing the NowTV box which went into the lounge so now all the mini does is act as a server and to watch netflix. I like Plex but I prefer XBMC but I'm lazy so I usually end up watching local content via the NowTV box + plex in both rooms…

When Microsoft lets me run Netflix without a gold account I'll probably move the NowTV box back to second room and the Roku into the lounge and… who knows. :eek:

Maybe I should just get myself an ATV2?
