Aramex global shopper

Gents please assist,i need to order a amazon kids fire tablet but AGS support in JHB says because it has a battery they cannot ship it. Is this true?

I just bought a kids tablet with built in battery off eBay through AGS. Took a fraction longer to get here as they shipped it via Dubai but it was still delivered and without any issues and this was last week.

There was a change in regulation regarding transport of lithium batteries earlier this year.

Shipping prices on Aliexpress went through the roof within a month to the point that it was no longer viable.

That being said, I order phones all the time without issue. It's just a case of finding someone that's willing to put it in a box and post it.

Quick off topic question. I was thinking of getting a phone, but was wary as most seem network locked. What did you look out for to get a successful delivery of a working phone?
Descriptions on Amazon/Ebay will be very specific. (Verizon, AT/T, Network unlocked etc)

Also any phone from Aliexpress/Gearbest are safe in terms of not being network locked.

Hi, have you guys used Aliexpress with AGS. Like using your China AGS address. Also would AGS combine the items and then send it together. I have the basic AGS

And also any idea how long that would take from the seller to the China address in the country.

I order on Taobao. Don't use Aliexpress unless you have no choice, that's for foreign people with money.
Look back on this thread on how to set it up and act like you live in Shanghai.
Combining is a skill, and difficult to do. You have to order from multiple suppliers, wait the on average 2 day delivery time to Shanghai and if you're lucky the couriers all deliver on the same day.
Then you might get a combination shipping amount.
It works most times on Flex, but I used to get it right on basic a number of times as well. My theory is that there are very few flights Shanghai - Dubai - Johannesburg, (maybe once a day), which increases your chances of combined parcels as the couriers have all day to deliver.
I have rarely managed to combine parcels through New York as things move faster and there are more flights.

Also bunch of orders from Aliexpress using AGS shipping address on the 1st of November and I still haven't heard from AGS since. Used AGS Shanghai shipping address

Is this normal?

Gosh, I just looked for a phone that would work based on what frequencies it supported and googled to see what our networks use etc. Then I bought one that was unlocked.

How did it take to arrive your order if I may ask?

A package of mine arrived in NY and AGS sent me an email saying shipment "was received at our facility without your Aramex Global Shopper (AGS) account number due to which it cannot be delivered on the expected date."

I mean really.. they clearly know it's mine. The seller obviously did not include my number..

Johannesburg , December 1 - Customs clearance , in process

How long does this process take. Uploaded the invoice 5 days ago.

How much does aramex charge if there are customs charges (apart from the customs charges)? I know if it goes through customs with no charges, then you don't pay any clearance or whatever.

The Aramex clearance charge is only R50. This is very reasonable seeing as DHL charge R150.
This R50 is added on after the customs charges.
