If you have a commercial invoice, it is preferred, but as long as the document stipulates what the item is, how much it is worth, as well as the total on the invoice, we will move it for you.

Strange.

Also my parcel in New York is stuck with the status "Need Invoice" for 3 days despite uploading an eBay and PayPal invoice.

Don't publicly disclose your account number. Now any of us can send parcels to New York that you will be liable for...

The "Description" on the tracking is irrelevant, don't worry about it.

NY seems to be very slow at the moment, I've also had one there a few days. Hate shipping from the states, London is so much faster.

It's not spam and I used a public image uploader that may have been classified malware by browsers, I'll use an alternative one.

ok well it was a brand new account, and then something that links to malware reported site seems very suspicious.

Thank you for that. Anybody managed to get aramex to discard a shipment for them? I ordered one item from a department store and they shipping a freebie sample of another product in a separate shipment. I don't want to pay shipping to SA for a sample I don't need.
 
Anybody had this before? I ordered $185 USD worth of USB cables for a client. Seller in Shenzhen decided to send it direct to me in Cape Town using his DHL account rather than send to my HK Aramex address. Okay, well and good, I was not liable for postage, which was a plus.
However...
DHL Cape Town have informed me after a week that the declared value on the parcel is $30 and so the parcel is being audited as the invoice I sent in does not agree.
I have not dealt with DHL before, all my parcels are via AGS, so I have no idea what is going to happen now.

Good news is that my parcel finally departed New York after 5 days with the Paypal and eBay invoices uploaded.

My New York parcel arrived on the 10th and on the 13th they sent me the email stating it arrived with not code.

Don't think they can do much as they would have to find that you and the seller are colluding which is clearly not the case if you've declared a far higher value

I most certainly hope so, this is giving me grey hairs - Plus it has taken over a week now with no movement, and my customer is having kittens. He should have sent it to the HK Aramex address, but they get perks if they import it.

What worries me is that I have another shipment via HK now at customs JHB and although I told him to declare the full value - did he?

Lessen be learned people - always add a note insisting the full value be declared on the parcel. If ordering from eBay it is easy to jot a note, or send an email to the seller afterwards. A lot of people think they are helping us by placing a lower value on the parcel, but they are doing the exact opposite.

Lol, sometimes good things come from mistakes. Aramex does not combine parcels, but in my case the shipment was 2 envelopes (screen protectors and Note S-Pens). Unfortunately I uploaded the invoices to the incorrect shipping numbers. I realised my error quick enough, but once uploaded you cannot delete anything, so all I could do was label the next upload CORRECT INVOICE and contact AGS in JHB about the mix-up.

They sent an email back, saying; "well noted".

This morning I found a payment email, and on going to the AGS website I found one envelope was R150 and the other one was R25 - total R175. To make my day better, they also emailed me that parcel stuck in customs had been released and the duty was R580. As I had worked it out to R666 I am most happy. I paid everything (and got R77 off the R175 as I used my FNB card).

Now, if the stupid parcel stuck in DHL would be released my day would be complete. Don't they work weekends? :mad:

DHL works on weekends(but no deliveries) and customs inspections only on weekdays.
In other countries like Australia, DHL even makes deliveries on weekends and they can import AU$1000 tax free a year.
