how often have you used them? I only used them once sofar and it took 5 business days to reflect.

About 10 times so far.
Delivery was always about 6 days excl. weekends.
After parcels arrive at their warehouses it takes up to 7 hours(but sometimes a lot sooner) to reflect if still business hours or the next day here if after business hours at a warehouse in a different time zone.
Just sad that they don't ship lithium battery products anymore from the East, I think they still ship from the US and some EU countries now.
So now expensive DHL is the only way for non-US parcels for me at the moment.
Just hope the new lithium battery laws change again for the better and Aramex can find other ways to ship lithium battery products from all countries in the future.
It's just so much better to use them, can upload invoices, see photos of your parcels, regular updates, can actually email someone for problems.

I had to reship one of my parcels with a battery with EMS since Aramex refused to ship it and every day it says parcel with delivery agent and nothing new, after using Aramex it feels very frustrating having such terrible service with another company again and then you also have to pay cash on delivery, no CC or Paypal payment online before parcel is delivered.

There is a company called TNT Shipping that also ship goods cheap to South Africa.
But I've heard they hold a lot of peoples parcels for ransom and demand R2000(R1500 penalty? + hidden admin fees) fees to release your parcel even for $30 parcels and gifts from relatives.
There are several complaints on Hellopeter and other forums about people having disastrous experiences with them.
Even in countries like the US people receive $50 invoices from them 6 months after they receive their parcels for hidden admin and penalty fees. Just be aware not to use them. If you pay nothing extra, expect a letter in the post for a very high amount to pay even 6 months after receiving your parcel. They refuse to send you the invoices from SARS setting out all the costs or the proof of payments they made to SARS and think they can hold your parcels for ransom and can give no explanation for the hidden fees they charge and some people will think it's fees from SARS, in fact it's their own fees. It's also impossible to email or get answers out of them. They have now been bought out by Fedex, probably will be merged with them in around June. Just hope Fedex will then stop the unethical behavior of their new subsidiary. It's a wonder this is not the most hated company in South Africa.

I concur, they re completely useless.....name a scenario, it has happened with them

delivered to the wrong address - check
forgot to clear a parcel - check
cleared a parcel but didnt invoice - check
parcel delivered to their depot, not logged in - check
declared wrong value to customs even though they had the correct invoice - check
didnt send out a parcel even though it was their warehouse - check
delivered wrong parcel - check
delivered without paperwork - check
parcel vanished on route for 10 days - check
have to collect from airport because the driver forgot parcel behind - check

They have so many changes of staff that by the time the new guy is half on board he leaves and the next one steps in...
I hardly uses them now, unfortunately they are the only shipper I can use for one location, but everywhere else dropped them.
myus on the other hand - parcel leaves usa on monday it is in my hands wednesday.

I hear gary from postbox courier has also streamlined and is more efficient these days - so really no reason to use aramex if you can avoid them

myus work out cheaper if you have a few parcels and consolidating and the speed is phenomenal.
myus can be problamatic on certain items
Gary aka postbox courier is more expensive than aramex but faster and a lot easier to work with- so it depends if time is an issue.
Small parcels low value aramex is fine, but you get what you pay for.

I mainly use Amarex Global Shopper for comics ordered via eBay. In that regard, they're the cheapest option you can get. I've never had any issues with any of my comics so far, touch wood.
 
How does this compare to PostBoxCourier?

Anyone used insurance and had to claim so far, whats the biggest loss anyone has suffered so far with Ags?

Is there an Ags address in Australia, can't find one?

Just bought something from eBay in the UK and it took less than 10days to arrive, including weekends. And they agreed to deliver yesterday on the public holiday.

Agreed, I don't see an AGS address for Australia.

What was the total charge from ASG, I'm also wanting to import from eBay. Is the blanket under R500 no duties assessed true?
 
I actually ordered 2 separate items from eBay.

Item 1 wighed 0.5kg and costed about R270 for shipping. Item value + shipping came to less than R500 and was cleared from customs in a few hours.

Item 2 weighed 3.2kg and costed around R790 for shipping.
 
I use AGS quite often. At this moment I have one parcel heading from Hong Kong to NY (they wouldn't deliver to HK), and I have another parcel being delivered from Australia to HK.
I have used Singapore, Germany and UK Aramex addresses as well.
So far great, apart from a parcel almost on my doorstep sent from Sweet Water Montana to NY. Aramex say it is 5.13 lb and charged me R571. I know it should be 0.513 lb, so I shall do battle shortly.
 
Anyone got contact details of the person above Vusi, they broke my package and I've got hold of him once and no reply in a week since then.

I have 2 more packages arriving at them today and want the credit for the item they broke so I don't have to pay again.

Unless the package was insured they probably not going to pay out a dime. How sure are you that it broke whilst with them and not when on the way to whichever hub you had the parcel originally sent to?

Everything under $100 is automatically insured, the photo they supplied when it arrived in Germany never had the massive dent in the top it arrived here with.

Lol, Vusi doesn't respond to emails or return calls, so don't hold your breath.

Try get hold of Lindsay Germishuizen or Lunga Nkosi - Vusi actually replaced Lunga and Lunga replaced Lindsay - but both of them are still at Aremex Global in various positions and are on the ball.

If you don't come right then get hold of numero uno, Mark Mahoney, sits far away from all the JHB *** at the Cape Town branch, but he is head of Aramex Global - unless he has moved on, haven't spoken to him for a few months, I sort of given up on these jokers for now, use them sporadically for cheap unimportant shipments.

The disconnect in service between the foreign and domestic offices is massive though. One of my parcels went walk abouts in Germany so I called the German office gave them the Ukranian tracking number, they then phoned their postal service on my behalf, located the package, sorted it and called me back in 2 hours.

Sorry the email I gave you didn't help. I guess they only do the basics well, but when there's a ****up you can't get anywhere with them.
 
I have a 4lb shipment heading to the NY branch and it should be there by Friday.

How long after that will I receive it here in SA? A week max?
