Hi Iceman.

SARS doesn't care what a product is used for, only what it is. As such there is no exclusion for "gift". If there were then people would just bulk import and call them gifts.

This is a commonly held belief though.

Shipped via AGS? Did you supply an invoice? And what was the invoice total?
It will be difficult to prove that the seller marked the price down without your approval.
 
This was via DHL, and I submitted the $185 invoice to customs having no idea that he had under-declared the parcel.
I have a $280 parcel out for delivery by AGS today, and as this is my own account I always state that the full invoice must be attached to the outside of the parcel. The problem with the DHL parcel is that the Chinese sender decided to send it direct using his account.

Inform the seller what happened and demand a refund. You're going to have to pay the fine, you're still liable for it even if you don't accept the package AFAIK

Had a package sitting for a week in HK, invoice corrupted when I uploaded it and no one bothered to tell me :/

Interesting. At least that is something you could double check if you want to, by just downloading them after uploading. I just checked mine now just in case.

Downloads and opens fine for me... So who knows, they may be telling me porkies. All my other packages have really been shifting though.
 
I know I started this thread, but I used AGS for the first time recently. My order is out for delivery today, it's past 12pm but no call or notification yet...

That is not entirely true. I once had a phone call as I work from home and they know it. The dog had escaped and was laying on the front stoep and the Aramex guy was too wary about getting out of the van.

When it comes to delivery times, I notice that there is a constant - if you get a delivery at a certain time, you probably will continue to get deliveries within a 2-3 hour period if that time.

Take my deliveries for instance:

As you can see, I somehow always get deliveries between 11am and 2pm.

Too excited, realized I was checking their tracking page too often for my own good so I made a thing to do it for me and spit notifications when the status changes.
 
Why not just use an app that do it?

17track app works on both IOS and Android
Deliveries app works on Android

Or even the AGS app.

Because I have to look busy at work ;) also for some reason my phone doesn't like to push notifications.
