Aramex global shopper

Quick one, has anyone ever had any issues with USPS delivering to the New York origin? I have a package that should be delivered there but yesterday the status on USPS's tracking site changed to : Available for Pickup - JAMAICA, NY 11434. Don't know if they didn't deliver yesterday because it was a Sunday and that they will try today?

USPS will deliver today. NY don't work Sundays.
 
Does anyone know how long it takes for a package to travel from Dubai to SA, and then to Cape Town via Aramex? Tracking said it left the facility in Dubai on Saturday, so hoping I'll receive it this week :)

Dubai is usually 2 days - in and out, but can sit in a bonded warehouse if received on a Friday before being dispatched on Saturday.
Problem then is it then gets to JHB on a Sat evening and stays there until Monday.

So as it left Dubai on Saturday, think I'll receive it in CT this week?

It depends on what it is and how much it is. If under R500 you stand a good chance of getting it quick. If in JHB, maybe tomorrow or Wednesday.
If over R500, or something that is manufactured or sold here, it will be held in customs.
I have parcels delivered in 8 days average from Shanghai via Dubai, but I pay for Flex.

Realised the package arrived in Dubai on Saturday and left on Sunday, and the value is closer to $100 :( I'll pray though

Please can you assist me: how on earth I can get something sent off for repair/replacement under warranty (free)?
I have contacted AGS and postbox courier and now I await their response.

But I'm sure others have sent items back.
DHL is looking to charge like R1000 - never in my life.

I have used the post office before, but I don't trust them. If it does get out of the country then the other country's post office is generally very fast. How do you all deal with this? And the return to South Africa?
What is a reliable, cost-effective way of sending something abroad? I will probably be sending to Taiwan - just waiting for a response from the company on that.

Business opportunity here? lol

Please, any and all help will be much appreciated.
 
brought something in now and

amazon had quoted 16.6% import duties, aramex has charged a wopping 40%.

WTF are these guys smoking

Send using EMS. Its a courier service run by the post office, but does not belong to the post office - it is international. It takes about a week to get a parcel delivered to an address in the USA and there they deliver to the door.

I could try that, although..
I waited a month when I had an item returned to me and I made sure to pay them extra to use EMS.
Only after I called and got hold of someone willing to serve the customer was it delivered (the next day).
A few days after it was delivered I received a letter asking for an invoice.. EMS really works well in SA.

I guess so. I was really hoping there was something others did that I didn't know of.
Well, I'll wait to hear from Postbox Courier and AGS in the meantime.
I know EMS is usually like R400 - R500 which is already quite expensive when you have to pay again to ship it back.
Normal post I've done twice before and was less than R150 both times. But it's all just a risk.

Quick Q: I know there was a way to register with FNB for free a while ago. Are there any similar campaigns running anyone knows of to avoid the registration fee?
