ArcheAge - Sandbox MMORPG

You download the Glyph client, which is then followed by the game being downloaded in its entirety which is then followed by you playing it.

It's 2014. Very few MMOs force you to download the base game and then the updates separately.
 
Yeah one download (about 24 gigs if i remember correctly).
 
Is there any way to try the game before buying it? I'm really keen to try this, but haven't been able to stick to any MMO besides WoW.

It's free to play :).
 
But this game better be good, and not just another one of those korean MMOs.
 
The game is awesome :) Playing on Dahuta. Queues suck balls, but it should get better soon.
 
Did Sharpwind Mines without a healer. A lot of health pots were used.

I decided to go Arcanist (Sorc, Cultist, Auramancy) and it's quite good. My damage output is low, but there's nothing quite like flamebolt -> bubble and then pop the bubble. Can't wait to try it in PVP. It takes off about half the hp in fall damage while removing the enemy from the fight for 10+ seconds.
 
Yeah. I tried to join this morning at 9 and there was already a 500 people queue. People are speculating that there are more players in queues than are actually in-game, so massive fail on their part. Especially because the game incentivizes staying online which means many players run macros to keep from disconnecting when they're AFK.

I'll give it a week or two and then see how it's going. I've got Wasteland 2 to tide me over until they sort out their ****ty launch issues. The worst part is the same thing happened with the RU ArcheAge and they still didn't have the foresight to get enough servers for the international one.
 
Playing Friday and Saturday been sitting in queue from 2800. waiting for few hours to get in. It is good game so far. Really enjoy it but they need to update it for better quest like in party me and friend as we dont know if we have same quest or not. Share quest would be nice. Similar to WoW.

Yesterday afternoon tried to get in as sitting queue 4800. gave up and play Dota2.
 
This is an EPIC game,
guild of about 12 Saffers all farming and stuff together. already having naval combat building combined property stuff there is just So many things to do!

LOVE IT!
We are playing on Aier or how ever you spell it.
 
Playing on Dahuta. Is it actually worth getting Patron to skip the queues during peak time? Does the queue at least go faster?

For me on Melisara with Patron the queue was 15 while a friend without Patron sat at 3600. So Patron is definately worth it.
 
Anyone know when Patron kicks in? Ive just downloaded the game, bought the Patron thingy, but when I login I get to choose a server, but then I hit a queue. Do I have to create a character or something before it becomes active? Busy sitting with a 1 hour wait.
